Redesigning and building a new home for BiomX, a biome company
BiomX is a public microbiome company developing customized phage therapies designed to target and destroy harmful bacteria in chronic diseases. They approached us after having been rebranded to redesign and build their website. The client wanted the website to deliver a refreshed image that suits the top-tier of biotech companies. Check the website.
The new website should serve various audiences: investors, journalists and other Pharma companies. It should deliver the information in a clear, accessible way, and help users easily understand what the company does.
The focal points of the website are the Pipeline and Technology pages, which are information-heavy and contain complicated charts. We laid it out in an easy and convenient way to reduce the visual load, and used custom solutions for mobile devices.
Understanding the industry
Before moving on to creating the website, we needed to better understand its niche. As a Pharma company that deals specifically with phage therapy, we needed to learn the industry, the products, and the target audience. For that, we conducted a stakeholder interview and a competitive analysis.
From UX to UI
With the research data available to us, we went on to the design stage. We used the pre-existing rebranding and applied it to the designs. We used the brand colours, shapes and symbols and typography. We used it to break the rigid structure of the page into a more flowing layout.
The investors section involved a third-party code implementation, which, in addition to the tight timeline of the project, added to the challenge. All-in-all, this project was fulfilling, we used new technologies and methods, and got an insight to this fascinating industry!
